About Dr Fere Malekpour
Fere is an experienced research scientist, with a background that spans several postdoctoral positions. Her expertise covers plant science, genetic studies, and postharvest technologies aimed at improving fruit quality and shelf life. She has also applied advanced imaging technologies, such as MRI, for non-invasive phenotypic analysis of plant roots.
At B-hive Innovations, Fere works on the TuberGene project, focusing on gene-editing potatoes to enhance consumer traits. This includes genome sequencing, annotation, and identifying genetic variations to develop potatoes with reduced cooking time and improved bruise resistance.
