About Aidan Laing
Aidan Laing joined B-Hive Innovations in January 2023, bringing a diverse engineering background to his role as a research technician for the TuberScan project. Prior to this, Aidan completed a triple engineering A-Level and gained hands-on experience working as an engineering assistant in a firm specialising in fabrication and powder coating. He later transitioned into carpentry, constructing bespoke summerhouses and cabins across the country.
With a desire to contribute to British farming and agricultural innovation, Aidan’s role at B-Hive involves data acquisition, development of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology for root crop scanning, and field equipment maintenance. Today, Aidan works across multiple projects, including field surveying with unmanned drones, engineering support, CAD and 3D printing. His contributions span various initiatives, such as TuberScan, TH Clements, PHENO-TUB, and FUSED.
